It's a ....

Baby! My sister found out last Friday whether she was having a girl or a boy and I am busting to broadcast it to the internets but she hasn't posted it yet so I am stuck here with the knowledge and nowhere to express it!

I'm allowed to tell now! It's a girl! A girl!! The first girl out of all our friends and family for Pete's sake it's a girl!

Let's count the boys:
Me: 2
Our cousin: 3
Anna's best friend: 1
My best friend: 3
My other best friend: 2
Grand total: 11. Yes, 11. 11 boys.

But now there's a girl! The minute I found out I ran out to buy girl clothes because for the first time in all the world I could. Then something happened. This whole new world opened up, the girl section! The "other" side at Gymboree! And there was just so much I just couldn't decide! So I bought two outfits but I am still recounting what I bought thinking I should have bought that. No, that! No, that!

Then I realized, I have our whole lives to buy girl stuff now. And believe me I will. I'm going to have a niece!!! Yay! Congrats, guys! Yayyy! Head on over to her blog, A Blog and a Baby, to see photos of this precious little girl!

I'm busting!

On with miscellaneous, now that I got that out of my system.

That being said, it's been a nice long weekend. I only got dressed and put my makeup on once --the rest of the time was spent in my paint pants and some sloppy shirt. I had a terrible "eating" weekend -- I had two Blizzards and pizza. Bad girl! But I'm not gonna beat myself up over it, instead I'm gonna own it, and if the ticker don't move this week, oh well. I'll live.

I'm trying this Twitter thing and there hasn't been anything to make me feel so old in a while. Remember how when you were a kid and you were trying to explain to your parents how to do something that "all the kids are doing" and they didn't understand why it was important or how to do it because they never had this "technology" when they were a kid? And you almost made fun of them because they were so "old-fashioned"? That's how Twitter is making me feel. I'm not quite sure how to work it. Or why people would want to know what I'm doing every second of the day -- I am sure that they probably don't, actually -- and I am not quite sure how to work it from my cell phone and I don't have the patience really to read through all the directions because I am not sure how important this really is to my life. Probably not that important. But so many people are doing it! So I'm just going to own my oldness. Ready?

I remember going to school without the internet. And when I had to type up my papers on a typewriter or later, a word processor. And when gas was just $1.99 a gallon. Or less! And when I took a walkman on a jog with me. While I wore a scrunchy.

So there.

Oh, and have I mentioned that Candlebox tickets are going on sale today!!!????!!!?????

Yes, this is one of my very favorite bands of all time. I saw them when I was very pregnant with Mini and I stood in the front row. So, Twitter, that is what I will be doing at 5pm today. Getting tickets.

  1. so what does it say about me that I still wear scrunchies!! Or at least I would do if I hadn't had my hair cut about three months ago!!

  2. Okay so I Twitter too! What's your Twitter id, I'll add you to my friends list. And well, you can do the same if you'd like.

And um, I love Candlebox! Have fun getting tickets, they are awesome live.

And congrats to you (and your family) on the news about the baby girl. My family sounds like yours - there are nothing but BOYS on my husbands side so I had zero chance of having a girl. If I would have though I (and grandma) would have gone NUTS. NUTS I tell ya!

    Have a great week!

  3. I do the Twitter thing, but sometimes I get entirely too many messages that come to my phone. In the middle of the night. And I'm still not sure I love it. I can totally relate to the whole feeling old-fashioned feeling, and I miss gas being $0.99 if we just crossed the county line. Yes, I was driving age, and it was about 807 years ago (I'm looking killer for being 800+ years old, too).

  5. I'm OK, thanks! Just a bit of blogging burnout. Love the new colours and congrats about your upcoming niece - how exciting! I have two boys and my sister in law has a little boy as well so I'd probably be just as excited!
