Fat Ticker Friday! The 4th of July Edition

My Weight Loss: 2 1/2 Pounds! Yayyyyyy! Yayyyyy! Yayyyyyy! A new decade of numbers!!!

My Goal for Next Week: Keep going! Eat right. Work out. Stay motivated. I'll be happy with 1-2 pounds.

***

The good thing about Fat Ticker Friday is that it holds me accountable in situations like, for instance, when I take the kids to the aquarium and I have a choice to make for lunch: ooey gooey fried sandwich-chicken-fry-chips-something-goodness or...the grilled chicken.

Or delicious beautiful scrumptious turkey and provolone panini.

Or grilled chicken.

Being Fat Ticker Friday "eve" and hoping that my fat ticker moves to the right and not to the left, I chose the grilled chicken. I wanted to re-think my decision when she pulled the chicken breast out of the little bowl of water that housed other already-cooked-and-drowned chicken breasts (appetizing huh?) but was subsequently content with my choice after finding out how much butter was poured on the bread for the grilled cheeses or paninis before grilling.

I can do all the working out I want, but if I don't eat right, it all goes out the door. And six days of working out and trying to find the time by squeezing it in between the time my husband comes home and the time the kids go to bed is too much work to blow it all on crap food. That's how I am looking at it right now.

So, out with it! How did you do today????

Don't forget: you can have two entries to today's drawing. One by leaving a comment with your weightloss results. The second by writing a post about your most embarrassing moment while working out or exercising and linking to here. Don't be shy! I have my own TMI story that I will share with all of you. Lucky you. I want everyone to be eligible for the drawing, so please leave your comment before 8pm et Friday. Winner will be announced on Sunday.

The prize is: a blog makeover by Doodlebug Designs and a tee-shirt from One More Mile.

Good luck! My Embarrassing Story post below. Enjoy!

  1. unfortunately, i started the week at 214 and right now am at 215. i have a problem with myxedema a lot (swelling...most hypothyroid people suffer from it now and again). i guess i could also blame the fact on not exercising at all. wait...i did do 20 mins of belly dancing, but that's only enough to burn of maybe one kernel of popped corned i had at the movies yesterday. lol i will see if i have any embarrassing workout stories in the file cabinet of my mind LOL if i do, i will try to post before i leave for vegas on sun.

  2. I posted my most embarrasing work out story yesterday because I had a few minutes to spare on my lunch. I am officially down a total of 6.8 pounds so I guess that means I lost 6 pounds. That makes up for the .8 that I lost last week. The weight loss was actually pretty easy for me this week, no major cravings and I was able to find healthy meals with meat and veggies no matter where I went for lunch. My goal for next week is 4 pounds, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck everyone.

  5. I only lost one pound again this week. I'm eating really well, but I'm not getting the exercise I need to get to reach that 2 pounds a week mark I really want to reach. I'm changing that this week.

  7. Erm... I'm at .. plus 3.5 pounds. It could have been worse with NO exercise, all those icecreams and my monthly visitor. Next week will be different. Hopefully.

  8. I am down ONE pound this week. Just one. Six? How can you lose 6lbs in a week? Ohmy! But, if I can actually get exercising, that would help a lot.

  10. Yeah for you!!!

I'm the same. I actually lost a pound earlier, but it came back the morning after we went out for supper and I had veggie lasagna. Imagine that! Plus that time of month . . .

So from the start of this challenge, it's 2 pounds down and right on track.

  11. My official loss for this week as of Friday morning is 4.5 (about), for a total of 6 lbs since the start of the challenge. My problem is that I was at my lowest weight on Tuesday, then figured I could cheat a little and ate some dessert. OK I had a variety of desserts instead of dinner at a party. Then I snacked on some junk Thursday and Friday. And no exercise Friday. So I'm slowly creeping up the scale again. I've got to go get more pineapple at Costco ASAP!

  12. Oops I forgot my embarrassing moment- nothing too bad but I was out walk/jogging and my nursing pad fell out of my shirt onto the sidewalk. I ran back to pick it up and was so afraid someone would see :) This has actually happened more than once...

  13. I was 2lbs down on Thursday morning but then we went to London spur of the moment and I did NOT hold back at the hard rock cafe. Good thing I only shared a dessert with my 3 kids - imagine having dinner with pirhanas and that was pretty much me trying to get a spoonful of hot fudge brownie sundae - I knew these kids were good for something!
