Fat Ticker Friday

This week's prize! A Camelbak Hydration pack! Plus a tee-shirt from One More Mile!

This week's weight loss: 0. Big fat zero. I've been procrastinating on writing this. But it's true. Nothing.
Next week's goal: I won't blame it on the eggroll. I know I did not eat enough times during the day or drink enough water. So I'll do that and move on. I've changed from having a diet "day off" to just a "meal off", (which will be date night tonight--dinner out with the husband) so hopefully that will help too.
***

OK! Man, isn't this moving quickly? We're halfway through already! There are only two Fridays left! Can you believe that?
Is your tuckus getting smaller? Are you feeling hot yet? How did you do this week? Please, do tell!

So no, I can't wear a bikini-ish two-piece yet, but I know I am feeling better about myself because I don't hate my arms anymore. I can always tell I'm getting fatter when I get bashful about wearing a tanktop or short sleeved shirt. And right now I'm wearing tanktops with reckless abandon.

Sadly, this is the only way I know that certain parts of me are shrinking. By the sizes of clothes. Because in the mirror, I see the same exact person. It's so weird. When I was 20 pounds heavier, I looked the same to myself. Which was bad in a few ways, because a. I didn't know I was that fat until I saw a picture of myself. Hence the fat picture disaster of '08. Which meant that b. I didn't think I needed to do anything about it. Do you have that problem? Why is it that when I was the skinniest I ever was ever a few years back, I still saw the big girl, and when I was the big girl, I saw the "normal" girl. What the heck? How do I fix this? Do I need counseling? Why can't I just see what is there?

Excuse my tangent. It's just something I've been thinking about. When people take notice that I've lost a few and I still look at myself the same, I wonder what they see, and in turn, what they saw. It has come to my attention that I may have a self-image problem.

Well. That being said, I worked out HARD this week. I worked out hard, I ran hard, and I ate really healthy, except for Thursday night when I had an eggroll and skipped the gym. But that was because I was at my moms and we were there too late, oh yada yada, kids to bed, gym closing.. Ack! Double duty Friday for me.

So, congrats on your weightloss and if you didn't have any loss, then I'm here for you. And if you gained, well, that's ok. There's always next week.

And leave a comment with your weightloss this week -- and if you have any special ways to remain motivated when you are at your lowpoints, please, feel free to share them with us all! Good luck in the drawing! I'll announce the winner Sunday -- OH AND GUESS WHAT? HUGE GRAND PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENT ON TUESDAY! YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS! Trust me. All I have to say is, better get on that elliptical. You're gonna wanna win this prize.

  1. Down a bit this week. 177.6 this morning but I just broke and had some chocolate so I'm not sure what that is going to do to me for next week. Need to get more resolve in the food department. Big time!! I'm going to menu plan for next. Good luck every one.

  2. Oh and yeah, I meant to say that I TOTALLY get that thing about getting the image of your body totally wrong. I am exactly the same way and I've been reading a lot of blogs in which the blogger admits to the same thing so I guess the good part of this is that we aren't alone. Bad part is that I don't know that what we can do about it.

  3. I lost 1.6 this week. It was kind of tough for me, but I'm determined to be better next week. I'm going grocery shopping first thing tomorrow morning.

  6. I'm down 2 pounds this week. Lost 5 since I started YIpee!!

I totally understand what you said about body image. I didn't see the difference in myself until I saw pictures from our week at the beach. How had I gained that much weight? How did I look like that in the pictures when I didn't see it in the mirror? It was a major wake up call for me.

  7. i was in vegas this week which meant i ate too much crap, drank too much soda, and had to deal with some seriously stressful situations concerning my ex-husband. i think i might have gained 2 or 3...maybe even 4 lbs this week. all the caffeine and the extreme vegas temps didn't help my myxedema swelling problem. my skin feels tight from all the swelling. yipee. LOL i'm glad to see at least some of us had a weight loss this week.

  9. I gained a half pound this week. Ice cream was waved in front of me like a carrot in front of a donkey, and I caved sometimes. Not all the time. And I was active, since we were at Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I'm still optimistic and hopeful, and feeling good about this. Thanks for the Summer of Me! Hang in there.

  10. I gained 1 lb this week.
Exercising daily is still going well, but like I said before, my portion sizes are getting too big again and I'm cheating every now and then on my "no snacks except for fruit" rule.
The body image thing I absolutely relate to. In fact, the day before I found your site I looked thru a bunch of old pics of myself to make myself see how I've changed. I avoid mirrors and cameras, so my clothes are my real indicator, how they fit.
The good news is we are 1/2 way thru and I'm exactly 1/2 way to my goal!

  11. I lost 1 pound this week. But it was one of the 3 I gained on vacation. So it doesn't really count. Have a great weekend!!

  12. I'm up one pound this week. I honestly thought it would be more, so I'm thankful for only the one pound. I've been a HUGE slacker this week. Bah!

  13. I only lost 0.2 pounds this week. My weight fluctuated a lot the past couple of weeks, but I was able to lose some of what I had gained. I've had a total weight loss of 0.6 pounds... I don't think I'll make my overall goal but I'll try.

  14. I lost, I lost!! :-) I actually cheated and weighed myself at the doctor last week and this week. I lost 1.5!! Jumping for joy!

  15. I lost 0.6 this week. I finally broke below 150 - yay! My goal is to never see that '5' again. I'm doing really well on WW, but having a hard time getting in much exercise - 5 kids home, hubby working away, blah blah, I'm lazy.

  16. I'm still unofficial, and I'm late, but I had a really excellent week! I lost about 1.5 pounds, but the biggest thing for me is that I stayed well within my goals all week and got down the the lowest I've been so far. Since my weight tends to go down a couple, then up a pound or so and then back down because I'm allowing myself free days and whatnot (and the past few weeks had given myself a little too much leeway), I was really pleased with this new little milestone. I'm getting very close to the weight I hope to be when I start working on just maintaining.

So glad you are doing this, and so good to hear others reporting in as well.

  17. Way to go on working out hard!

I had a really bad week. Gained 3 pounds, or so the scale says. Hopefully it was just the time of month or something. We'll do better this week! I'm sure of it!

  18. I'm still losing a little at a time but I've just gotten too busy with the blog and all of that to keep current. I'll come in when I have time - I lost 1 more pound this week. Who knows if I'll have time to work out now with the kids home - and next week we move in to a hotel - means eating out for meals more than we normally would. So, I'll try but no guarantees anymore.

  19. busy with the move not the blog - can't even keep what I'm busy with straight.

  20. I didn't lose anything this week. I didn't weigh in until this morning because I was bloated and menstrual Friday morning. Well, didn't do me much good, did it? But I look slimmer in the shoulders and hips. Hmmm. Ah, well. I will succeed eventually!
