Good morning from Quantico, VA! We're weighing in this morning in another state and another scale so we'll see how we do! I haven't worked out since Tuesday when I ran 2 miles and did the Wii Fit but if pacing back and forth for 5 hours and walking through airports and up and down stairs and through long, long hospital hallways counts for exercise, then I'll take it. If not, then I'll have to figure something out. I will admit my eating wasn't that great, a couple of Subway sandwiches and a lot of Starbucks and maybe a Big Mac.
But I do hope to get a run or two in in this beautiful scenery here on the Marine base. Oh, can I just tell you how gorgeous this little Marine baby is? She's coming home today!. So I can have her all to myself and hold her and snuggle her as much as possible until I leave on Sunday!
Weigh in: no change
Goal for next week: Get back into the program after a long, long week!
Did you read about this yet? Want some more accountability whilst becoming fitter and healthier? Read all about the fun at MizFit's blog and e-mail her if you want in! (It's all in the link there)... I'm doing it! I could really use the extra help.
So remember our question for this week? About your favorite and least favorite body parts or rather, what you'd like to work on? What are they???
What I aspire to, as I mentioned Monday, is a toned shoulder and tricepy arm. I don't know whence I became pseudo-obsessed with this, but I love looking at other people's pretty arms. I love that muscle that comes down from your shoulder and forms a pretty teardrop shape when it meets the tricep. I'm a complete dork, but I so want that. I have been working my triceps on the Wii Fit and in the gym, along with adding a couple other shoulder machines to the mix to get that cute little muscle working. And I'm starting to see some lines! Not quite and totally, but there's a glimmer of hope there! That's my special project.
When I was, how do you say, post-partum-ginormous, there were two things I could count on that would always make me feel good about myself. My feet and my hair. My hair was long, and flowy and the vitamins made it fluffy and shiny. I loved that. Now, it's falling out because that's what happens at one point after the baby, but I fit my jeans, so there's always a tradeoff. It's not so bad if I use some leave-in conditioner. And why feet? Because I love shoes. I remember after the first baby, I went out to buy clothes. Regular clothes. Because I was sick of maternity. But I wasn't prepared for the shock of what size I would actually be after the baby. Everything had shifted, I still had a lot of water, and it was a dressing room disaster. The sweating, the squeezing, the panting, the nothing-fitting, the eventual crying. I came back with a cute, expensive pair of Steve Maddens (my favorite brand of shoe) and my husband got mad at me. I thought you were shopping for clothes! Where are the clothes? Shoes?!? To which of course, I broke down and yelled and sobbed about my mortifyingly horrible shopping experience and the fact that I deserved shoes since clothes didn't fit. But shoes always did. So I may not have had some clothes that fit, but I sure did have hot shoes. He felt bad after that, by the way.
So those are my stories. What I'm working on and what's my faves. What's yours?
How did we do this week?? Let's hear all about it! Link it up! Happy FTF! Don't forget -- this week's prize is a $20 gift card from Running Free!

ReplyDeleteI went up .4 pound. I'm not sure why, as I've been staying within the calorie range that I have for the last month, if not a bit under some days and I'm still excercising about the same amount. I added some strength training this week but I wasn't even using weights.
checking on you...and HAPPPPY FRIDAY.
ReplyDeletehere's to a fit healthy weekend where we (I?) dont toss healthycleaneating out the proverbial window :)
I'm down 2.0 since last Friday. I was way up on Moday, so I'm quite thrilled to be back down and then some!
ReplyDelete.2 down ... whoo pee.
ReplyDeleteDown another 2 pounds!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday new Auntie!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGuess what? I had a horrible migraine this week and it seemed to help my weight. Amazing how not wanting to eat can help you lose weight. :)
weight loss = -4 1/2 lbs!!!
Yoohoo!!!
Down two pounds this week for a total of 16 since joining in HoH :D
ReplyDeleteI´m down again. 1.2 pounds. Yeaahhh!!
ReplyDeleteSo I´m back to my total of 5 pounds. It´s hard!
I completely forgot to weigh in last week. This week is still no loss, no gain. Need to up the exercise and eat better next week.
ReplyDeleteNo gain, but no loss either.
ReplyDeleteI am down 1.2 lbs this week. Next week is surgery so the only days to exercise are up until Monday. I'm a little nervous about that.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to weigh in last Friday so this is for two weeks. Down 3.2 pounds! Yippee! I am on vacation for a week starting on Sunday so I am hoping to just stay the same next week.
ReplyDeleteI'm down about 1 lb., but my body's getting back into shape now that I'm running again! It's feeling good. :)
ReplyDeleteI am down 2 pounds.
ReplyDeleteI stayed exactly the same! We had Thanksgiving on Monday (here in Canada) so I had all the fixin's and a slice of pumpkin pie (well, more of a sliver) every day until it was gone. I told my sweetie last night that I was almost afraid to weigh in, and he told me that he noticed how I was being careful in other areas and still working out.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm excited with no change!
Hooray! I lost 1.5 pounds this week!
ReplyDeleteThat makes up for the pound I gained last week!
By the way, I'm with you about liking my hair too! I also like my hands and fingers.
ReplyDeleteWe won't talk about my thighs though... they are EVIL.
I am exactly the same! BUT WooHOO I kept the 6 lbs off! Best of all I've dropped a pants size or 2 maybe! YES! YES! YES!
ReplyDeleteI lost what I gained last week plus an additional 2.2 pounds, for a total of 5.4 pounds this week. Very exciting!
ReplyDeleteWe were on a mini-vacation last week so this report is for 2 weeks. No change.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on needing to work on my arms. I may be too old to do much, tho. I have hanging flabby arms, but really want arms that are smooth and toned.
So very sad....up almost a pound. Not looking good for next week either, as I'm going away. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteSteph
well, i can't say if i'm up or down as the swelling took over my body this week made me gain LOTS. it's finally starting to go down. i'm part of the take it off together tuesday bloggers and i didn't submit a report as it would not have been accurate due to the swelling. so i don't really have a report today either. i will talk about the body parts in a post later today LOL i am behind in my blogging as i do flash fiction fridays as well. i just completed that not too long ago LOL
ReplyDeletecongratulations on your niece...she is too cute :)
I'm excited to report a 2 lb LOSS this week...much better than the 1 pound gain that I had last week.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new family member, Aunt Christie!
Congratulations, Christie and family! And welcome to the world, Christie's little niece-ling!
ReplyDeleteI'm down 2 pounds from last Friday.
Hmmm...at this point, all parts that are not hands, face, or hair could use more work. But I've been able to see some progress, especially in arms and legs, and that's exciting.
Wish me luck: I'm running in our town's 5K Pumpkin Run on Sunday!
Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful fall weekend and success in the coming week!
CONGRATS on the new little baby! how fun.
ReplyDeleteWell....according to the scale i'm down 6 since last week. i think it may have to do with the fact i bought a new scale on monday. but i weighed in asap after getting it and it showed the same as the other scale. i guess we will see if i have a gain next week! I'll be happy for now though.
I'm down .6 from last Friday. Which makes me still up .4 from the Friday before. So technically, although I'm down .6 from last week, if you count that as a loss, it is a loss that was counted already back on October 3rd. So I'm not sure what you do about that. Things that make ya go hmmmm.....
ReplyDeleteHave a great week everyone, and I'm hoping to find some blog visiting time again this weekend - I had so much fun last time trying to visit lots of participants, although I know I missed several - including (GASP) our inspirational hostess! EEKK! I'll have to rectify that!
1 lb down - slow going!
ReplyDeleteI'm down 1.4 this week!
ReplyDeleteI'm down 4.2lbs - good week.
ReplyDeleteI was really worried about this week but I ended up down 0.5!!! I'm thrilled with that.
ReplyDeleteAs for what you said about the clothes not fitting but the shoes did after baby...I actually GAINED a 1/2 size on my shoes after baby #1 so not only didn't my clothes fit but neither did my shoes! Talk about depressing!
Hope you're having a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI am down 2.5 pounds this week. Woo Hoo!!
I'm down 2.4 this week. Looks like there are some amazing losses this week! way to go everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteminus 1 pound! better than going up!
ReplyDeleteit's been a horrible week with husband out of town. I ate like crap and barely worked out and as a result I'm up 2 pounds.
ReplyDeleteClairanne
Another week of no weigh in. I haven't exercised since last Wed. due to the knee issue and it's still hurting, goes away, comes back so I probably will miss spin class tomorrow and may try it on Sun.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to be sure to check in still. Trying to stay positive and am thankful for all the good thoughts.
Ya'll are doing great at staying accountable. Keep up the great work.

I gained 1.3, I am sooooo sorry! I have no idea why. I worked out, I ate right. My body just hates me! But I hired a personal trainer that I'm going to work with 2 times a week starting Tuesday, so hopefully that will help. Again, sorry!!!
ReplyDeletei had to weigh myself the day after my surgery with a pressure dressing that is wrapped around my leg from groin and ankle so add 2 pounds gained for me. I am also sidelined from exercising for the next 2 weeks. After Sunday I can start walking again as tolerated. In the meantime I am to keep my leg elevated until Sunday. I have a post ready but flickr seems to be down so i can't access the pictures i wanted to add to the post. but please count me in even if i did gain. now i am off to bed again.
ReplyDelete2 pounds!! It's been a crazy couple of weeks... I can't even remember if I've been leaving comments when I am supposed to...
ReplyDeleteI've been out of it!!!! I think the the issues with my internet connection is giving a damaged brain!!!
I seem to be doing a dance with my weight...two steps forward on step back. I'm up .2 lbs. this week. It is one of THOSE weeks, so that might have something to do with it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new bundle of joy! Have a great time spoiling your new niece.
Down 2.5! Yea!! But having problems getting on your site. Boo! I hope this takes. Have a great week and congrats again on being an Auntie!!
ReplyDeleteI lost 2 lbs this week.
ReplyDeleteI went down 3.5 pounds this week. The body part survey is posted, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the new little baby! I'm late with my comment prize wise, but hope I'm still here in time to weigh in this week. (My router went out! GRRRR!). Anyways, I'm down 1 lb this week! HOORAY! I hope to have even bigger numbers next week! I'm off to go post for this week's HFH's!!!
ReplyDeleteI am up 2 pounds this week.
ReplyDeleteNo gain, no loss. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI must lose at least a pound next week for encouragement. I will try to kick my behind into gear! :)
I keep forgetting to use my weight loss blog name - so for the above comment (no gain, no loss)- here's the correct blog!
ReplyDeleteDown 2# Wahoo!
ReplyDeleteI'm out of town right now and am late posting this, but didn't want to miss a week. I weighed in yesterday morning and had no change. There probably was a slight loss, but I was late weighing in and had already showered and eaten breakfast by the time I remembered to hop on the scale. So here's to looking forward to a loss for next week!
ReplyDeleteWay to go everyone! 56.9 POUNDS IS AWESOME!
